i have a 1987 force 125 motor. i may just be dumbe but are the butterflies on the carbs supposed to be fully open all the time? even when just idiling or shut off. if they are supposed to be closed what could be the problem?

The outermost butterfly is for the choke. Should only be closed when the choke is activated.<br />The innermost butterfly opens and closes in synch with your throttle linkage.<br />With a motor having more than 1 carb, the butterfly's are tied together and should operate at the same time and in the same manner.
