I have a small leak from the underside of both my carbs from where the throttle tube sticks out, it's not much but will this be a problem, the motor seems to run fine otherwise?

Mercury 650 1975 3cylinder

This is probably not a "quality" answer. But Merc carbs tend to leak.Make sure the leakage is not from being tilted up for trailering.Make sure it's not because of the first couple runs of the season.
Then rebuild the carbs, using gasket kits AND needle and seats.
DHP

Re: Carbs Leaking Fuel

Sorry I should have stated that the fuel leaks from those two rods (only a few drops) imediately after the motor is shut down. It does not leak there before or during but as soon as it is shut off. Every time also.

Also I just rebuilt the carbs and according to the manual there was no looseness of the throttle rods/shutters so the manual said not to do anything to the them. But now I wander if I should have replace some kind of washer or seal there.

Hey
My 75 hp Mariner does the same thing. Doesn't seem to harm anything. Just a little gas odor but I still catch fish.
