Carb/timing synch--DO IT!

I recently bought a boat that the motors (200 Black Max) had supposedly been completely tuned at a shop. They ran pretty well, but I decided to do the synch on them just in case. OMG, things were way off!!! I initially accepted a little hard starting and rough cold running as they're old engines and running on a hose. Now they fire up and purr like kittens--OK, crackle & growl like angry lions really, but just as they should.
I did every thing by the book, precisely and triple checked, to the dismay of my GF who was in charge of turning the key for me for about an hour in the heat while I timed and tweeked. When it was all done and I fired them all was good again.
