Carb swap??

Ok need some help. My original carb was lost in the move of my old repair guy. My engine is a johnson 1974 40 hp. The replacement carb is from a 1967 40 rkl. The carbs look identical and most part numbers are the same. The only part that is a different number is the slow speed needle. So what I'm wondering is if anyone knows the specs on those 2 needles and if they are close enough to swap carbs or should I hunt down a replacement 1974 carb?

Go ahead and swap the carbs as is.
