i have a i believe 1955 evinrude 3hp lightwin model 3014, and was wondering what is the gas mix suppost to be i hear 16 to 1 and what is a good starting point for the high and low carb adjustments

1/2 pint per gallon is 16:1 which is required for those old motors. Try 1 1/2 turns open for low speed (top of carb) and 1/2 turn open for high speed setting (bottom of carb). When motor warms up, set low speed first for best running , then adjust the high speed.

thanks that helps alot, and do you know if or what lower shrouds fit this motor. did they change alot.
Saw some on ebay but not sure if they will work said for
50s-60s motor
