Guys-
I am revisiting my carb project for my 93 Larson 170 with the 4.3 V6. The engine model number is 0F074116. With your help, it was determined I needed carb rebuild kit 9437. My problem is that I just found the following stamped on the carb: 9565A-6 and date code 2703. I read somewhere that this means it was built in 1992. I also can't find a carb with that number, only an accelerator pump. Also, I found on a site that 9437 has been superceded by 3302-804845. Is this correct? I just want to make sure I get the correct kit as I am going to have my auto mechanic rebuild it before I have the boat tuned up and winterized. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Carb rebuild kit needed

No problem, same kit used for both carbs. Not unusual for a component build in the year before the engine. Yes you have a 1992 carb, but it is performing exactly the same job as the one built a year later, and the parts are all the same.

Correct kit for your carb (and the one that 'should' be on the engine) is 3302-9437, and that supersedes to 3302-804845... So that kit will be the right one.

IMPORTANT...Use the accelerator pump SPRING from your old one NOT the one that comes in the kit.
There should be an insert in the kit that tells you this.
It is important to use use the stiffer spring.
