I have a 92' 4.3lx merc with the Weber 4bbl carb. The boat runs just fine but has a lot of hesitation on the bottom end and overall seems to me like to carb isn't performing the way it should. I was wondering if a carb rebuild is worth the money? By the way I have replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, wires etc. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Jason

Yes......
That's a Great Carb......
It's the Exact Same carb as the Edlebrock,+ the Carter AFB.......
The Kit parts,+ Tuning Parts from the Carter/Edlebrock are Also the Same.........
Only Much Cheaper,+ Easier to get.........
Check with the Mail Order Hot-Rod Parts Houses for the Cheapest parts.....
Or the post farther down the page by bomar76.... I listed the NAPA rebuild kit part #s there......

I looked around for a better part of this evening, but all could find everywhere I looked was the merc. part #823728 and the all were around $100.00. I guess I am not sure how to find the parts on the automotive side.

J

Look in a Jegs, or Summit, or PAW, or Any other Hot-Rod parts catalog, for Parts for an Edlebrock "Performer" carb.........

In the Jegs catalog I have here,
#350-1472, Gasket kit....$6.49
#350-1477, Major Rebuild kit....$35.99
Calibration kit, #350-1480....$45.99(Best Money I ever spent)

There are Very Few gaskets in a Merc/Weber, Edlebrock, Carter Carb.....
And, You can Reuse them, If they Don't Rip or Tear, when disassembling the carb.....

Re: Carb rebuild for Weber 4bbl

Thanks for the help, Bondo. I found the kit at Autozone for $40.00, and finished re-building it today. I can't wait to take it out know and see how much better it runs, only problem is I broke to fuel line trying to get it off(the fittings were rusted) So now I am trying to replace but I already ruined a new one trying to bend it myself. I guess a couple times and I'll get it. Thanks again,

Jason
