Carb rebuild after winterizing

Getting ready to pull the carbs and do a rebuild.The engine has been fogged with Deep Creep and the plugs removed and it sprayed in the cylinders too.
If i rebuild the carbs is it ok to let them set dry until spring or do i need to run the engine and re-fog.I don;t want the needle and seats sticking or anything from being left dry.
I know one thing,the Deep Creep has loosened a bunch of carbon in the engine.It has black goo dripping out of the exhaust hub.I was going to let that stuff stay in but it may actually be better to run the motor and burn it off..
Any suggestions?

The ideal condition for storing carbs is dry. It is the fuel in them that gunks them up.

Don't worry about the black sludge running out from fogging. That is harmless and next spring is just fine for blowing it out in a huge ball of smoke. However, it would be OK to remove the prop and rinse the oily stuff out of it. Over a long time it MAY soften the rubber hub.

Thanks FR, I have to order the base gaskets for the carbs.
Its going to be 80 degrees here today! Good day to pull the carbs off.It will give me something to do when it turns cold..

I had a neighbor telling me the carbs would be damaged if they were left dry all winter..i figured that was bs....

If the carbs got damaged from staying dry over the winter, the dealers/mechanics would have to move them pretty quickly or their shelf life would expire

Got it HT...

Its warm for 2 more days so i need a project! Dang tempted to pull it to the lake instead but got it all tarped and winterized...
