Carb question

I have an 85hp carb question. There are small springs in the carb where the float bowl retainer bolt goes in, but only on the two lower carbs, is there suppsed to be one in the top or first carb?

Walbro carbs have a slip-in main venturi dip tube vs. the screw-in type on WB Tillotsen carbs. The spring holds the tube tight in the casting. If all three carbs are the same type and number, all should have the spring. If the top carb is a different number then perhaps it does not need the spring. Take a flat blade screwdriver. Reach in past the choke and press down on the large brass dip tube. If it pushes down then yes, it needs a spring.
