Hey Everybody i just have a quick question. I have a old merc 115 inline and i have replaced the gaskets in all the carbs and the fuel line going from the motor to the gas tank. When i pump the ball hard i have a little gas come out of the carbs. should any gas come out no matter how hard you push the ball. Let me know thanks.

Re: !!!!!!!carb Question!!!!!!!

If you squeeze the primer bulb hard enough it is possible to force a little fuel out but you would need a pretty good grip to do it. Since you had the carbs apart, I suspect you have the float level set incorrectly or that the inlet needle and seat on the leaking carbs are bad or sticking.

Re: !!!!!!!carb Question!!!!!!!

5 - 7 psi fuel pressure will overpower the needle valves. It's possible to get over 10 with a white knuckle squeeze on the primer bulb.

If it comes up firm, and doesn't give or leak with just enough squeeze on the bulb to confirm it's firm, it should be good.

hope it helps
John
