New to the forums. This seems like agood place to ask this question. I am rebuilding my carb off a 1987 DT40. I noticed a threaded hole which looks like a adjustment screw went there but there was nothing. I bought a rebuilding kit for it and installed it when I noticed this. I did not remove any adjustment screw from it. The shop manual has a picture of it (#13 attached pic) and says it's an air jet, but none of the schematics on the a varity of websites show anything. The motor ran OK last summer, just doing maintainence on it. Question is, is there suppose to be anything in there? Thanks

Thats the main air jet, no adjustment screw, just make sure it's clear by spraying carb cleaner through it, the spray will exit into the chamber that houses the emulsion tube/main jet.

Be very careful what you do with carb cleaner. It can do damage. I rarely use it, preferring to soak in Gunk carb and parts cleaner.

Thats the airjet, if it plugs up it will burn a hole thru the piston. Don't listen to those guys that carb U have is $400, take it apart, have it ULTRASONICALLY CLEANED they have the tiniest passages in them. Buy a new needle valve and seat.

have fun !
