carb problem suzuki dt55

the top carb cuts out as i excellerate. other two carbs run fine. need help

Wrong float level or sticky float needle, partially plugged main jet, dirty emulsifier tube,any or all of the above is where I'd start assuming good compession and plug. It's not likely spark as Suzuki ignitions are pretty bulletproof.

By what method did you determine that the top carb is cutting out?

the motor would start and run on any one cylinder but the top cylinder would quit if you tried to excellerate a little. plug was dry it seemed. changed plug with second cylinder and status was the same all the way around.<br />crude but effective i hope

Had similar issue with older Suzuki.<br /><br />The foam hood line was deteriorating and small bits of the foam would find their way through the bowl venting and plug main jet. Would settle out if shut down or any other reason then replug without warning. <br /><br />Continued to be a problem even after cleaning carbs a number of times till foam was removed and underhood was blown clean.<br /> This link may be of some help.
