I need help! I have a 1981 searay 228 merc. Last year we took the boat out runs like a new boat when first started and running at good speed. Heres the problem, when I run it for while boat warms up put in idle speed in gear to dock it the rochester carb loads up and stalls motor. This spring I had the carb gone through and fix. Took the boat out and had the same problem. Talk to the guy who worked on it, he said to adjust the fuel air mixture. Tried that no matter what way I turn the screws gas still puddled up. Took boat back to him, he said a piece of dirt caused the problem. Went back out on the water same problem occured. Paid the guy $200 for nothing. Does anyone know the problem, so I know if the guy is jerking me around. Also how good is a remanufactured rochester carb. Low on money after paying to have the old one worked on.
