Carb kit for 1996 3.0 LS

Hello, First post for me. I just bought a 96 1750 LS 3.0 that is a nice clean boat, but has a couple small issues. Boat will start fine at the lake on first try. After running across the lake, we shut down for several minutes, and it will not start back up unless you take out of gear and advance throttle about 2/3 open. A that point , I can smell fuel slightly. Also will diesel on occasion at shutdown. It runs great other than that. I'm figuring it needs carb rebuild, so I call I- boats. They say they don't have it and to call Siera directly for a part #. I call them and they say there is no kit for my carb. And that it must be ordered piece by piece. What do you think? I'm sure there has to be a kit somewhere.

Do you have a Merc serial number for your engine handy? Mercruiser has kits, you don't have to order each piece individually.

Do you have a Merc serial number for your engine handy? Mercruiser has kits, you don't have to order each piece individually.

I have not taken mine off yet. Does mine have the 90 degree bend in the accelerator pump?

Check these guys out aftermarketmarine.com they sell a universal kit for both mercarbs and rochesters what type do you have? does it have one Idle adjustment screw or two? eighter way they can hook you up for under $40.00. Good luck and post back

Sounds about normal to me...2/3 open might be a little much, but dieseling after hard runs isn't unusual if you don't let it cool down before shutdowns.
