Carb jet settings on a 1995 Wave Venture???

I have been having problems with this wave runner for awhile. It runs fine at idle but when you throttle up and get up on plane it only runs for a few seconds and then the motor quits. I took it out today and found that if i pull the choke out a little it will stay running. So I took the carbs off to clean them and on the front carb the high speed and low speed jets were 1/2 turns out. When I took apart the back carb the low speed jet was 1 1/2 turns out and the high speed jet was 3/4 of a turn out?? Does anyone know if this is correct? Could this be my problem? Because both of the carbs were very clean inside. Thanks for any help!

My manual says for both Low Speed screws- 5/8 +or-1/4 turn out.
High Speed screws- Front carb-5/8 +or- 1/4 turn out
Rear carb- 1 1/8 +or- 1/4 turns out
Idle speed 1250 rpm

These carb specs are for the WVT 701 You should start with a new fuel filter and spark plugs gapped at 0.25. While you have the carbs off, remove and clean the small bucket fuel filters in the fuel pump side of the carbs. How many hours are on the ski? Could be time for carb rebuild if there is alot of hrs on it, but I have almost 300 on my Venture and it is still running fine. You should go to the Mikuni website, lots of good info on carbs there.
