I just had my 68 Merc 650 serviced. Tune up, throttle adjustment, OD lube change, #1 spark plug replaced and #1 spark plug thread replaced and a JB weld on the lower unit. This all cost $438.00. I am not sure if that's a good deal or not. They told me that one of the carbs has a small fuel leak and it should either be replaced or rebuilt. They quoted me $600.00 for the repair. How much cheaper would it be if I did it myself and how mechanically inclined would you have to be to complete a project like that?
