Carb Gasket Sealer Recomendation

HI, Shortly will be rebuilding the carbs on a '87 40hp Johnson. Have the kits, but see in the manual that they use a sealer. Looking for imput from those with experience as what type of sealer to use. I have rebuilt carbs before and most of them worked with very few parts left over...... ;) Always glad to have any tips, tricks or insight that can be offered.

The only sealer I use is gasket sealing compound on the welsh plugs. After installing the new plug, I coat the top with the compound...just insurance to keep the air out. Other than that, I don't know of any other place on the carb to use a sealer.<br /><br />Some guys will use "Gasiola" on the plugs. Good stuff but the shelf life ain't worth a crap. You may see this stuff on some carbs....kinda red in color.
