No experience but I found my Mercarb at ebasicpower.com for $249.00 with no core deposit.

wewefirex2x ...... I take it that you were satisfied with the carb and the service? .... I need a rebuilt Mercarb for my 1993 3.0LX .... CarbCareUSA offers a reman for $210 + $60 core charge ... I'll have to pay the shipping on the core return, but they pay the shipping on the unit they ship.... Sure would like a reference if anyone out there has purchased anything from CarbCareUSA...... btw... I checked with many sources that had references on iBoats and none could supply the carb I need ....... at least not in the near future since they had no cores to rebuild......

Re: Carb from CarbCareUSA

Received a remanufactured Merc carb from CarbCareUSA yesterday as promised by the company... The carb is not an exact replacement ... the throttle bores are 1-5/8" dia as are the bores in the original carb on my Merc 3.0LX, but the throttle linkage plate on the side of the carb is pressed onto the shaft, not secured by a nut, there is no stud on the linkage plate to accept the throttle cable, and it appears that the accelerator pump portion of the carb casting is not the same as my original carb.... and the linkage on the accelerator pump lever has only one position vice my original carb having the linkage installed in the middle hole of three positions on its lever....

Have I received a "hybrid" made up of parts from two different types of Merc carbs? ..... if I resolve the problem with connecting the throttle cable to the remanufactured carb, will I see a decrease in performance? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.... if this replacement carb will work, I really want to get back onto the water this weekend!!.......

Was there a stud bolted to the old carb for the throttle cable? Most remans do not come with that.Just a hole where the stud goes. You will need to switch that from the old carb.
I always use Guaranteed carburetor out of Florida. They will even rebuild your original carb and flow test for about 180...Also on their rebuilts the will match the serial numbers with your old carb so you know you get the exact same thing. They do not charge a core charge and pay for shipping the old carb back.

Gary H NC ..... the stud for the throttle cable is pressed in to the linkage plate on the old carb .... unfortunately it is not bolted or threaded ... I tried several rebuilders in Florida and none had the carb I need available to send.... they said they could rebuild mine, but my original had physical damage (the web that the spark arrestor mounting stud threads into was broken out of the throat of the carb), and the turn around time was weeks in most every case since they are in the busiest time of their season.... My attempt to get on the water quickly may well have cost me time before this is over with.....:(
