Carb floats? 83 Merc 150

Over the years there has been a lot of changes made to various components used in just about everything. Some for the better and some for the worse. Not to long ago carburator floats were hollow and soldered together. Then they went to the foam type and god knows what is used now. I am getting ready to replace my reeds and if I remember correctly Merc came out with a replacement float for their carbs. Since I have to remove the carbs anyway, I was wondering if perhaps the newer model floats would be worth the money. I have no problems with the original ones in there now, just trying to avoid any future problems.

you do not have to remove carbs to replace reed's

leave em on and just disco fuel and scavenger lines

there is room to get the reed box bolts out with out removing carbs
hope this saves you some time

Thanks for the tip about not having to remove the carbs. I didn't know that. But I am still curious about the changes in the carb floats.
