Is it possible to clean the carbs thoroughly on my '94 Vindicator 200 without having to remove them from the manifold?

I have heard a method using Sea Foam Deep Creep, but was wanting to get some opinions on it first.

Any instructions would be helpful, and welcomed. :)

Also, I recently did a decarb using OMC Engine Tuner, but I ran it through my Fuel Primer pump. Does that clean the carbs when I do that?

A far as cleaning and maintaining your carbs, you definately have to take them off and apart, no other way to get into all the little orifices and jets. If you d like to periodically de carb your ENGINE , seafoam is a good product.
in a portable tank, mix 3/4 gallons of premix gas, an 3/4 can of seafoam, (assuming you don't have the vro connected). Put the remaining seafoam in a spray bottle, run the motor up to temperture, remove the plugs, one at a time, spray some seafoam into each cylinder and replace plug. let sit 15 minutes, remove the air silencer from the carb while waiting, restart motor, and spray seafoam into each carb, until it start to stall. repeat till seafoam is gone. run out the rest of the gas. it is going to smoke like it is on fire, and drip goo on the ground. replace the plugs with new ones, and then do the compression check again. this procedure burns the carbon out of the motor and been known to free up rings, and increase compression.

Engine Tuner is about the same as Sea Foam. Neither will clean your carbs like a dis-assembly and soak. They will help to keep them clean if used as a prophylaxis treatment.

When I'm lazy I will just mix a very strong contraption of seafoam and gas (2 cans a gallon) together and ride it like I stole it! Then replace the plugs.

Dirt, grime and varnish don't stand a chance.

running seafoam through them will help keep them clean, but if they are seriously dirty won't clean them out.

A cleaning solution can't clean unless it comes in contact with the dirty surface. If you have obstructed orfices, no gas is getting through....how's it going to clean 'em?

I had a situation once where I was lake-testing a carb rebuild, motor started bogging on acceleration. I stuck the straw from an aerosol carb cleaner into the hi-speed jets & gave 'em a few blasts, cleared it out. Apparently something got up in there between the garage and the front yard (sawdust, dog hair, mosquito, whatever).

You definitely can clean the carbs when they're on. And you'll have the shiniest prettiest carbs around, but they'll still probably run like crap! :)

good way to do "preventative maintenence" is to run a can of seafoam with your gas/oil every now and then. A full carb cleaning where u remove them only needs to be every so often. Maybe 2 times a year if u use it a lot. If you just got the motor and dont know its history, it might be a good idea to take them off and soak them.

You might also want to invest in a carb. rebuild kit. i.e. New gaskets, and float needle and seat. Just a thought.

Attempting to clean a carb without disassembly is like taking a shower with your clothes on.
