Re: carb cleaner

Gumout used to make a marine carb cleaner, but I hav't seen any in years. Don't know if there was any actual difference from auto cleaner. I've always used Gumout on my O/B's and havn't seen any problems with it. Usually run the first tank of the season [6 gal portable] with Gumout in it.

Re: carb cleaner

AT any napa store you can get 2 types of "seafoam" decarb. One in a can that you can add to your fuel every so often, and the other which comes in a spray can that you can spray into the carburator.(both are the same chemical make-up).
Last time I used the spraycan a cop came running into my backyard with a fire extinguisher because of all the smoke it caused by decarbing the engine.
It will clean out your carburator without attacking the rubber parts to badly, like some more agressive cleaners do.It will act as a fuel stabilizer if you add it to your fuel
The stuff in the fuel is not as sudden but it works fine.
Good luck
