I was trying to clean the carbs on my BF40A honda this weekend. I was using Valvoline SynPower Aerosol carb cleaner and Berry Mans B-12 Chemtool (something like that)After soaking the jets and other brass parts in berrymans it seemd to have a green powdery residue on the parts when they dried. Is this normal?? If not what am I doing wrong or what should I do to prevent this.

Re: Carb cleaner Leaves a green Residue??

i have never used those products and probably wont after reading your post, but hey..get yourself some engine tuner, get about a gallon, pour it in a bowl and soak your carbs in it for about 10 -12 hours, clean them with compressed air and they should look brand new again, the green you may be seeing in a reaction due to possible water inthe product you were using.....i have never used anything else to clean a carb other the tuner....good luck and keep us posted
