Carb adjusters 1956 Evinrude Big Twin 35

Are there supposed to be packings on the adjuster needles ? If so where can I get some? Or will Locktite work? I think she is sucking air around the adusters.

Yes there is supposed to be packing washers/gaskets under the the packing nuts. It is the job of the nuts to squeeze this packing snuggly around the needles. you may need new packing or just snug up the nuts a little. Do not tighten down the packing nuts with the needls seated/closed. You may also be sucking air at the fuel line connection. Inspect the o-rings and replace them is necessary. Do not toss the connector, repair it.
