I bought a scrap touring caravan to convert to carry my project boat, a 5.2 Rigid Raider dory. The boat hull weighs 585Kg + the weight of the helm, seating fuel and outboard. I am probably gonna put a mid eighties evinrude 115 hp 2 stroke on her. Can anyone tell me the approximate weight of this unit in Kg? <br />I have stripped the caravan down to the chassis and it's in very good condition. It is a twin axle and it's approximately 21.5 feet from hitch to end of chassis rails. The boat is 17ft 6inches in length and cathedral hull type. I have been told that the axles will need to be moved as this person believes the centre balance point for the boat is about 4ft 6inches from the stern. This would not allow the boat to fit onto the trailer if this balance point was currently over the axles. Can anyone provide me with some formulas or relevent info. Also, if anyone has had problems with setting up or roller types, bunks etc with a similar cathedral hull I would appreciate any advice they could give me. Many Thanks guys.
