I can't figure out what's going on with the message system on this site anymore. I got a PM from GA_Boater but never got any kind of notification about it on the site. Just finally saw my email notification on Gmail that had apparently gone into my Spam folder. I tried to reply (there was no reply button on the site??) but then I got this message when trying to send it:

"You have reached your stored private message quota of 100 messages. You have 218 messages saved combined in your private message folders. You cannot send any further messages until space has been created."

I only had like 5 messages. Regardless, I cleared everything out that I could figure out how to clear out and I'm still getting the same error when trying to send. Up at the top of my forum window I see I have 735 "Messages" but I have no idea what those are? How or what do I need to clear out to be able to send PM's?

By the way GA_Boater (Don) here's my reply:

"Thanks for the welcome back. Been able to spend a little more time online again lately thought I'd check back. Things are good. Everyone loves the new boat. The Starcraft's Evinrude runs like absolute garbage though and I haven't figured out what to do about that right now. We sold our house and moved in to a rental because we were planning to move closer to my job. But then I got a new job in the same town so now we aren't moving but are saving for a bigger place than the old one. So my wife isn't letting me spend any more money. If she was, I've be cruising CL looking for rotted boats with J/E 140's on em!

Jeremy"

The PM notice was sent to the Gmail addy stored in your profile, so that's normal. Might have to change Gmail settings so forum.iboats.com messages aren't treated as spam. That's the easy fix.

The PM message storage limit for members is 100, a big change from earlier. The limit includes all inbox, deleted and saved messages. A big part of the 735 number is probably deleted messages and other big part are the 215 saved ones.

On deleted messages, it's a two phased thing now. If you delete a message from the inbox or saved messages, they are put in the Trash folder and are not deleted until clicking on Trash, selecting messages to delete and then Delete Permanently. It's the new VB5.

And PM pop-up notifications went the way of the Dodo, even though it's still a profile setting. :blue:

ezmobee - <- will cause an email saying that you were mentioned in this thread. After some old/saved message clean up, you should be good to go.

Glad to see you back. Now about the wife and spending money - Let us know if you find a cure............Please.
