I have a 280 pt and I can't get the upper gear housing off so that I can replace the bellows. I have undone all the two outside bolts, two inside allen head bolts, shift linkage and steering helmet. I also undid the hose clamp from the bellow and slipped it off. I only got it to pop up enough to hardly get a screwdriver tip under the edge, but can't get it to budge anymore. Any tips on what to do?

Is there a lot of water/rust in the drive?

Don't use a screw driver or any wedge between the two cases. These surfaces need to be nice and flat.
Reinstall the two rear cap screws. Back them out three or four threads. Grab yourself two makeshift levers of some sort, and jack up on the heads of each cap screw from the surface of the intermediate housing.
The force will raise the transmission and hopefully break free whatever it is holding the two together.

This will tend to raise the rear section more than the front section.
If it does, put a shim on each side between the two, and as far forward as you can.
Try lifting again. Add more shims, lift again.
Do this a few times if you need to.
This will raise it and keep the transmission surface more parallel with the intermediate housing surface, until it finally comes loose.

If you have to use any kind of wedge, put some thin metal pieces against the two surfaces to protect them.

Could be that the coupler splines are rusted.
