Can't get that lower unit off?

Search under topic name "Screaming at Lower Unit" or user Dmzhmdepo. Lots of suggestions, and I guess I'll have to try them all...<br /><br />l/u on my '97 evinrude 115 spl stuck like nobody's business--probably never been dropped. Anyway, wanted to save everyone some time.

Tell us a bit more about your specific situation.Have you positively removed all of the bolts and disconnected the shift rod?97' isn't that old and if it's never been off I'm wagering that there is either a remaining bolt or the factory paint at the horizontal joint has a grip on it.

Don't know your motor but some of them have a bolt under the trim tab that must be removed.
