i have a 17 foot mfg gypsy star with the 18 gallon gas tank.running an outboard motor. checked tank looks to be replacement.i cannot get the gas to come to the motor and stay there .put on new line ,also checked to make sure it was cleared.now im going to check the placement of hose from tank.as this boat sits on trailer with bow up attitude would yuo not think that the hose from tank sould be at the back of the tank?tank is in the middle of the floor.about 5 feet from back.

make sure that the fuel line is on the right way. there should be an arrow on the primer bulb indicating which way fuel should flow,. Also, make sure that the vent plug is open, or a vacccum wil be created. When i got my first outboard it took me two days to figure out that the fuel line was on backward, man did i feel stupid! good luck though

Be sure the line at the motor is not attached backwards.
The latch goes on the pointed pin,the line side goes on the pin with the holes in it.You may need to check that the dip tube in the tank is clear and not damaged.I actually had a tank that the dip tube fell off in side the tank.
