can't find the male plug for my 84 90hp

while replacing some of my old oil lines to the VRO I inadvertenly unpluged
the VRO I have the female connection but, can't seem to find the male end.
Ha, ha but, seriously where any clues to where it might be?

Get a flashlight and coathanger wire, look in the area beneath the starter, it probably slipped down there.
