I purchased a 1969 Glastron and need a new prop. I ordered a 15.3 X 21 solas prop but it is hits the trim tab. The center part is longer than the original. I am replacing the size with the one that the book calls out for. All the prop searches start with Alpha 1 drives, mine is I believe an R before Alpha drives.

Ayuh,... You either need a different tab, or trim that 1...

There are tabs that are just a disk. Sometimes you can cut a notch in the tab you have.Perhaps you should give us your present max rpm and speed, motor, size of the boat? What are you changing from and why. While diameter isn't usually a consideration;why did you pick a prop with a big diameter.thats almost an inch bigger than the typical 21".When the difference approaches an inch it will affect your rpm.In my opinion if you allready have a 15"+ diameter your allrerady too big, unless you have a particular unusual application.

I have a 17' 120 I/O. The prop is being replaced because it hit a rock and is done for. I was going with the replacement size listed in the book. I finally was able to make out the numbers on the old one and have ordered the exact same prop. Thanks for all the help.
