Going through the same issue right now. Called the company and they could not give me any information about the number on my freeze out plug (round silver tag). Frustrating. I assume your engine has the sticker badge (or had) as apposed to the bolt on metal badge? I will follow this thread, let us know if you find anything out.

Well we found out that my power head was a replacement. So I have a 86 lower and a 89-91 upper. That's why my freeze plug started with a R for replacement. It has a M on the plug to stamped above the number. Did you call a local dealer and look up the number?
