Looking for help from the community here in identifying the fuel connector I need for an old pre-1997 Honda BF75 (BF75L 1301753). I ordered part number Seachoice 20441 LC, which says it is for Honda part number 17650-921-003ZB. Well it does not fit. It has 2 issues, 1 the retaining stud is round on the motor and the connector is for the rectangle style. Second the fuel stud is approximately (+/-.05") 1/4" diameter (measured) and the opening in the connector is like 5/16" diameter.

Tried using a Johnson connector and it is again to big for the fuel side stud.

Is the proper connector part number; 17650-921-003ZB? Does this fit the 1/4 diameter stud?

If someone can point me to the right connector?

Honda dealer is going to want to sell you a "kit" for 35-40 bucks that updates both sides to the newer Honda square post style.

Much easier to ask for a Yamaha end and use that. It's a direct replacement for the older "round peg" Honda's. Not sure why that fact isn't more widely publicized, especially when talking with Honda dealers. I just tripped across this info somewhere, tried it, and it works fine.

I hate dealers..... and smug replies to folks looking for help.

I tried a Johnson/Yamaha/Honda one and it leaked fuel everywhere. Yes it was new. I was looking and it appears that they fuel stud is only 1/4" diameter, where the universal one above looked like 5/16" diameter. Could be a bad O-ring inside.

This is the reason for the question. Hoping to run across someone else that had this problem.

the problem with Seachoice and Seasence and Attwood parts is they are made by will-fitt after-market chinese suppliers. Never had a good one for any brand of motor (they all leaked)

at least check to sea what Moeller has for parts, if not buy the honda part direct from Honda

Round post Honda end is no longer available, and hasn't been for quite some time. They won't discuss anything not involving the square end the newer engines use - or a kit that includes both sides ($$$).

If you had tried a Yamaha end, I doubt seriously you would have written in with this question. I work on a lot of these older Honda's, and have been using the Yammi end successfully for a few years now. There is no "Johnson/Yamaha/Honda" end that I'm aware of, and I know the Johnson end won't work after learning just like you did.

The connector I am referencing is an Attwood product part number 8896LP6.

I bit the bullet and bought another connector from Ebay. A OEM Honda connector 17650-921-003ZB. Ill post if its fits or not. By the picture of the pat, the hole for retaining stud appears to be the same size as the Fuel Stud. So Hoping it solves my problem.

thats what I stated in post #6. the will-fit chinesium stuff is just junk.

Moeller for example is the OEM supplier of fuel systems to many I/O and outboard manufacturers, so I have had good luck with their stuff.

The actual Honda part is Die Cast. Not Plastic. Quality part, note the correct part is made for 1/4" ID hose. Not the typical 3/8 ID hose most fuel connectors are built to.
