So I replaced my transom a month ago and put in a new drain tube with some 4200. Was very pleased with the install until I went to find a plug to fit it. It claimed to be a 3/4” inside diameter drain tube so I ordered a couple 3/4” bait well rubber snap type plugs. They were too big and there was no chance of them fitting. So I went to local marine shop and grabbed a couple 5/8” plugs. The 5/8” plugs fit but were only tight when fully twisted in and even then still not fully comfortable with seal on it. I’ve tried looking up solutions but I’m starting to think I might just drill out this so called 3/4” tube and put in a standard 1” tube that fits a proper/standard 1” plug. Any advice and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

did you expand the tube (required installation step)

look up transom drain tube flaring tools.
