Canadian Fishing Trip Report

Five of us went on a fishing trip to Ontario this past August. We stayed at a lodge on Lake Windermere and rented their outpost cabin for the week. If you've never stayed at an outpost cabin ... DO IT. Its a great experience. The cabin was an hour's boat ride from the main lodge so we had complete solitude. We didn't see another boat the entire week. It was like having our own private lake to fish.

Another cool thing we did was hike through the woods to some bush lakes that the outfitter had a couple boats stashed on. It was quite the adventure and the fishing was great.

Here are some pics and videos of our trip. We will definitely be going back.

This is a video of my buddy after catching a decent pike on Goldie Lake. You get a real good feel for what that lake looks like.

Looks wonderful.

FYI, there are 3 different Windermere lakes in Ontario, I see you were at Happy Day Lodge, so you we due east of Lake Superior.

Our family has been going up to Ontario for 60 years. Mostly north of lake Superior back in the 50's and 60's.
Then mostly to the NW of Superior for the last 40 years.

Great wilderness to be enjoyed.
