Can you run a jet boat out of water?

Can you and how long can you run a jetboat out of water if i have water running through the engine but not the jet?

I'd say yes but not to long so the bearings around the prop shaft don't over heat. Maybe 10 minutes

What have you got?
My old Speedster had hose inputs for each engine(I think, it's been a while since I had it). My Sea Rayder has a hose input on the top of the engine.
Your owners manual should give instructions on how to do it, but yes, with the proper set up you can. I just wouldn't do it without a hose connecter.
Once hooked up, you can run it till you run out of gas at idle, but don't go over idle.

they are the same as a" p w c",, you can flush the engine on a hose but you can not turn the water on if the engine is off. you should not run it for more than 5 minutes if it is a sea doo with a carbon seal on the drive shaft as it needs some water to keep it cooled off, as for the pump it won't hurt that at all to run out of the water,, you can also run without water to the engine for 30 seconds to blow out water from the exhaust system.
