does not want to idle tachometer bounces up and down then eventually stalls.
runs great at anything above 1000rmps.
so far replaced fuel filter (no water in it) put fresh fuel back in tank.
not receiving any codes but everything points to the IAC just dont want to drop 100 plus for nothing. any similar stories? have read through alot of threads. THANKS!

There is a lot more than a fuel filter or an IAC that can cause your problem. Instead of reading through threads as a way of troubleshooting (bad idea by the way) here is a link to the OEM service manual.
http://www.4shared.com/document/FWwx1Vs7/Service_Manual_36_Rev_1_SBC.html

Then you will need a DVM, a fuel pump pressure gauge set for EFI, and a scan tool http://www.rinda.com/marine/mtspec.htm#techmate
Codes are just a small part of the troubleshooting needed to find the problem.

so basically you are saying take this to a dealership. ( no disrespect) just seeing if anyone had similar issues, that turned out to be the IAC.

just a good bit of info. it was my IAC, something to save you some big $$$ as well. a 2003 ford windstar iac is the same and compatible with a 2006 mpi 5.0. fired her up running smooth. much relief cost. $50 bucks advanced auto
