I have a 1994 Johnson 150 faststrike V6 in which the bottom cylinder went out with small scoring on the cylinder wall. I took it in for repair and was told he was going to bore one cylinder and re ring the other 5. Is this ok to do or should all 6 be done the same? (I am getting mixed answers)

Sure, as long as the other holes mike OK. Make sure the cause of the failure is determined, or it will happen again on the same hole.

Factory oversize pistons are made to weigh the same as the standard ones, just for that reason. Personally, I'd replace the piston with an oversize from the OEM, rather than mix another mfg'r piston.

You'll have to measure all the cylinders regardless of how "good" they look, as stated. It's OK to mix & match sizes. Wiseco, Vertex (if you can even find them) and Pro pistons all match the OE weights. The other brands you'd have to check if you're going to use one of them.
