Can someone help me find this part? (see picture)

I have a 1995 Johnson 90hp Outboard and I need help finding a part. The part in question seams to be some sort of temperature sensor, however nobody at my local OMC Dealer could figure out where to get one. Apparently it is not a factory part, or if it is, it is not on any of their skematics. In any case, the sensor originally had a brown wire coming out of it, but it has since corroded and snapped off. The device sits flush on the cylinder head, and is held on by one bolt. Any help is much appreciated.
That's an add on temp sensor for a gauge on the dash Brett. The gauge still there?

Yes, I have a thermometer on the dash, but ironically doesn't work. Any idea where to get a replacement sensor? Part number?

Don't know the PN. It's an aftermarket set up. Nosed around in iboats store but don't look like they carry them. Does your alarm horn at the control still work?

The sensor may still work. You can hook it up to the gage with jumpers and heat the head of the sensor a little and see if the gage still works.

If you are still with this, those senders don't usually go bad.

Clean it up so that it makes good contact with the block, and run a new wire all the way to the gauge. If you can find some, try to make it tan in color.

If the gauge will then work, you can run the wire along your harness for a more permanent installation.

Sorry OBJ, I let that set awhile and did not see your answer before I posted.

Good Call Guys! Just one promlem though, the screw at the top of the sensor has corroded and cannot be removed. I have tried soldering directly to the screw, but it never holds for long. Any ideas on how to make a solid contact?

Clean the end real good and just use alligator clips to run the test. The screw looks like brass and can be easily cut off.

No problem ezeke......hit'n the oil again huh?

Does anybody know where to get one if a replacement may be necessary?

Soak it with Corrosion X. I used it on two pair of needle nose that were basically useless, they now operate with fingers only.
