I've posted sevral times asking about my timing I have a 1977 175hp model 1750 I need help seting the timimg The seloc manual I have says to take all plugs out and use a dail indicater to find .069 and to mark the flyweel this has been done then it says to remove the time decal are paint over it this has been done "not by me" this has something to do with the use of unleaded fuel then it states to put # 1 plug in connect timing light and at cranking speeds to line the three punch marks on the fly weel with the notch on the cover this is for prymary timing it never says anything about a degree mark now on the secondary timing it says to set at cranking speeds line the mark that was made on the flyweel with the notch in the cover agian noting about a degree mark my ? is anyone got a mercury manual that they can check to see if what it says for a 1977 175 couse I was allways told that timing had to be set at runing speeds
