I don't think most lifejackets can be in water that long. Sure they will save your life, but some have warnings on them about an immersion limit. Meaning if they are exposed to water for x number of hours they lose their rated bouyancy and should be replaced, can only imagine what being tossed around in a washing machine would do to that rating.
If you do not have anyone that wears them all the time I wouldn't even worry about it, I'd rather a moldy life jacket that saves my life than a fresh and clean one that sinks like a rock.
I would wipe them down but skip the whole washing machine part.
