Hello,

I have searched the forums and can not find an answer.
1. I would like to replace the bolts on the exhaust plate of my motor. (They are not bad, just thought it would be a good idea to replace them). They are no longer available from manufacture website. The original bolts are a 1/4 (20) x 3 1/2 (class 10).

2. I bought the same size zinc bolt from Home Depot.

3. My question is will these hold up, or will they rust?

Any help is appreciated.

I would only use Stainless Steel fasteners and coat the threads with waterproof grease. If your present bolts are still good, maybe clean the threads real good with a wire wheel, grease them and re-install. What's the motive for replacing a perfectly good fastener? Good Luck!
