can i turn my plastic tank into a dual line pressure tank

just wondering if i can turn a single line plastic tank into a dual line prsseure tank,,,,can i insert an air fitting or will the tank blow apart,,,i was just wondering cause it is $115 to get my tank redone...the plastic tank does have a vent screw on it and i think as long as i get done driving it or am gonna fish one spot for awhile then as long as i open the vent up i think it should be fine....my tank also has the bulb to prime the line

Short answer, no. Which motor do you have? You should be able to convert your motor to take on a fuel pump.

Seems to me that $115 is not worth a possible gas leak or worse out on the water. I'm not saying it cannot be done...just that I would not do it. Pressurizing plastic on purpose just does not sound good. Some would even go as far as saying the dual line pressure tanks are a high safety risk at best...others will disagree however.

You can find a working tank for $50 or less if you look. Post a "wanted to buy" on Craigslist.

What needs to be fix on your old tank? Gaskets and o-rings for the dual line tanks do not add up to $115.

plastic tank, NO!!!

depending on which motor you have, it will cost $115 to convert, or buy a 2 line tank.

I posted a want ad on Craigslist and found a dual line tank for $10, which is a great deal, especially since I got a good working one for that.

well i know it can be done but then again if i ever forgot to vent the tank then it would be a time bomb,,lol,,,,but anyway i need everything,,,my fuel pump is crap,,,then gasket,and new line too but the bad thing is ,as i am missing the $75 dollar connector too,,,which i dont need really anyway,,,,also i am running an evinrude big twin 30hp

Cheapest way to go is to install a fuel pump on your Big Twin, then buy a cheaper non-pressurized tank.

Or, you can hunt around for a good pressure tank with all the trimmings. There are always some around for sale.

Don't try to second-guess this stuff. Gasoline is dangerous. Do it right or don't go boating.

Of course you CAN do it....the advice you are getting (good advice) is that it is a really bad idea.

The pressure tank I gave a link to still has 30 minutes and no bids ... $50 is hard to beat!
