can i remove the waterpressure sensor being in water ?

... on a 2006 5.0 b3 mpi without flooding the bilge ?

its located on the powersteering cooler .

i have low water pressure readings without any overheatings and want to check or clean the sensor .

nothing to clean or test just make sure the PS cooler is bonded to the engine or add a ground from the cooler to the block

You can remove it without flooding the boat ONLY if it's above the outside water level. If it's below, snookered snake...

smartcraft reads zero with engine off and the pressure changes with different rpm,s so i guess the sensor works and grounding id good . its just low so i thought maybe the sensor is a little bit clogged . no way it can be clogged and need to cleaned off ?

i get 1.16 psi at idle coldstart and after a day of boating it might get down to 0.5 psi at idle . no alarms or guardian mode

that said i logged on the weekend 8 hours on the boat and the temp was always between 153 and 156 deg on the smartcraft . due to my knowledge the engine WILL overheat when there would be a restriction on the pickup.

Had a pair of new 5.0's in a 2006 Searay. 0.5 is where they were at idling. 17 or so WOT.

No alarms = no problems
