I have a 1955 johnson seahorse 5.5 that has old solid core spark plug wires, the boots and clips that attaches to the spark plugs are loose fitting. can I splice new connectors on the old wires, I eventually want to get new wires they are just hard to find thanks robert

New fitting's can be out on, but solid core wire should not be hard to find. If need be, check with a lawn mower shop.

The motor must have solid core wire. It will not run on the carbon fiber stuff.

Just check with any outboard repair shop too...they should have spools of solid core that you can buy by the foot!
