my trailer has no guides on it whatsoever for loading my boat. because of this, it is very difficult to get the boat properly centered on the rollers so it is supported correctly. i was wondering if there is an easy way to make some guides that I can attach to the rear of the trailer that will keep the boat nice and centered when I pull it in, instead of drifting like it usually does.

it is a 14' runabout boat, the trailer just has center and side rollers that are very hard to line up on, especially since it is underwater when I load.

Yup, I made my own guideposts. I took a 12' piece of 1-1/2" galvanized pipe, cut it in half, then used a pipe bender to make some nice bends on the ends. Slipped pieces of 2" PVC over the galvanized pipe and put pipe caps on the ends of the PVC. Drilled eight holes in my trailer frame and attached the posts with U-bolts (two on each side). Works like a charm and cost me less than twenty bucks.
BTW- I have a 24' walk around cuddy cabin that weighs about 5000lbs. You probably won't need near as heavy duty as the posts that I made.

I welded upright 1.5 " galv pipe to the trailer and slid 2" poly pipe over it. took 30 min and materials were out of scrap pile. Careful when welding galvanized pipe look for adaquate crosswind ventalition.
