Is it possible to bypass a crappy stator and just run a hot wire from the battery direclty to the switch box?
I can't tell what the color coding on my stator was or where the wires that were attached to it are supposed to go. I have a diagram but it doesn't help much if you don't know which wire was what color coming from the stator. It's a five wire stator.......on an electric start motor. Two go to the switch box, two to the rectifier, and one to the hot on the stater solenoid. I attempted to hook it up but the motor has weak spark. I just guessed at where the wires went.

If anyone knows which to wires are responsible for generating the spark I'd try that.

Nope. With enough parts from an older donor motor you can convert to a magneto.

OK,
I dont' know the anwer to this one so I won't argue.
This motor has a trigger and distrbutour...........

Can anyone take a guess at which 2 wires are supposed to go to the switch box?
This motor will work fine without the rectifier hooked up I assume?

Don't hook 12 volt to that ign box you will burn it up that is a ground off system and voltage will kill it
