I have a 95 Bayliner that the bow seats and rear seat bottoms are in need of replacement. I'm looking to purchase replacements. Is it possible to purchase pre-made vinyl or do I have to remove the vinyl and send them for a pattern? I viewed a YouTube video showing the method for replacing the vinyl, but it did not explain how they got the replacements.

If the prices aren't what you expect of the installation is a hassle, contact a local upholstery shop. They can do exact replacement covers or custom skins for about the same price.

And don't forget there's always the "buy a used sewing machine and have it" route. I had never even darned socks (I have, however, used the word "damn" and socks in the same sentence), and I was able to sew 22 cushions for a sailboat cabin. If I can do it, anyone can as my wife likes to describe me as "un-coordinated in just about everything". The first one or two may not turn out so swift, but they DO get better as you keep going. Plus, it saves a LOT of money that can be used on more toys. Just a suggestion.

If you don't have access to a heavy duty sewing machine look for a local vinyl guy or upholstery shop and get a quote. Compare that to your time, equipment costs, and materials and go with what you can afford.

And then there is Copy Cat Covers. Check it onling. Send in your old covers and they make new covers. I don't know anyone who has done this but it looks awesome.

My buddy had rodents infest his pole barn and spend the winter gnawing up a lot of the vinyl in his boat. Seats and side panels took the worst. Local canvas repair/uppholstery shop did a remarkable job matching the color and design on the Crestliner vinyl. I don't think it was a bargain, but I was really surprised at how well they did.
