Has anyone done this? My motor did not come with a flush port and i would like to add one if possible. And, are there any aftermarket flush ports that can be installed on the 2000 Merc 90 ELPTO?

it is a 2 stroke. the flushing kit on the link, is that installed under the cowling inline, or is that a set of muffs?

I appreciate the reply, but what i am looking for is a way to tie into the cooling system where the garden hose can be attached to a coupling near the cowling so the engine can be flushed without running the engine on the muffs.

I want to splice into the water cooling system like the newer model engines that have the flush port on the back where you directly connect the water hose to the motor.

Let me know if you have any ideas, or have attempted this...

OK, The kit looks simple enough. Where does the brass fitting thread into on the block? That should be the key to whether it works or not....

When looking at the diagram that Gerrry posted you will see a brass plug (item # 32) near the top of the water jacket and thermostat that is the same as the one that is in the fitting for the water flush system that is shown. I belive that that is where the flush system needs to be placed. Check and see that your motor has that plug. JMO
