Can anyone tell me what year my sears is?

Hi all,<br />I have a outboard that reads sears on the hood and it says its 3.5 hp but needs some parts can anyone tell me the year? The tag says model #<br />60920 117918a but its hard to read.I have looked at the sites that are crossref. for sears but I cant seem to find this model.<br />Thanks,Joe

Hi jcoo<br />Looks to me like it might be a 1968 3.5hp 1 cylinder engine built by Clinton. The full model number for that is 582.60920, but the 582 may not be visible anymore. I'm thinking this is a Canadian Sears outboard since its got a Sears tag rather than 'Gamefisher' or 'Ted Williams'.<br /><br />That's an air-cooled outboard so use TC (weedwacker/chainsaw) oil rather than TC-W (outboard) oil. Mix is heavy: 16:1.

Hey Paul,<br />Many thanks that will be alot of help,I finally got spark and I think i carb cleaning is in order.Then it sould ran like new.LOL<br /> Joe
