Hello all!
I have been searching for days as to what kind of boat this is.... Im in Illinois and literally the last 4 years I have driven by this boat and have always been curious as to what make/model it is... Me and a friend were going to stop by the house and ask some questions and try and get some answers and possibly some better photos although, my friend got off early today and stopped by without me. Soon enough if need be I will stop by and try to get some better answers... My friend says the guy was pretty "out there/odd" and only told him the boat was a pt military boat, after doing some research I quickly realized theres no way its an obvious 70-80' 1940s-1960s pt boat and that most of the old pt's were destroyed, minus a dozen or so... It seems from my view that it is aluminum although i've yet to see it closer than the road... and I would say its no longer than 18-24' in length... The gentleman he had spoken with said it was from the early 60's, and my friend says it still had "numbers" on the boat (possibly for military basis?) and was made out of a very heavy 3 layered alum. He also said that it had almost 1" thick window panes and mounts for some possible light artillery... While im only riding on what he has told us and from my picture it doesnt seem too realistic, although I am Nowhere near ... I cannot seem to find anything similar online although I have seen hours and hours of beautiful old boats... I have come across your forum and figured you gentlemen would have the best idea as I have read hours of your posts and topics for there is some great information here!! Ill attach a picture I had taken this morning on my way into work... I would really appreciate any input... Thanks guys!!!!
